Toys

Children's toys are products that are designed and manufactured to be played by children up to 14 years of age.

In order to bring children's toys to the market of Ukraine it is necessary to carry out works to assess their conformity with the requirements of the Technical regulation of toys safety, approved by the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated February 28, 2018 № 151. This technical regulation is harmonized with the Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 June 2009 № 2009/48 / EU on the safety of toys.

Article 3 of the technical regulations provides a list of products that are not considered as children's toys and which are not covered by the technical regulations.

Article 4 of the technical regulation, concerning the terms used in it, gives a number of terms regarding the names of children's toys:

• a game to develop such qualities in children as perception of taste;
• toys designed for water play;
• toys designed to stimulate different kinds of activity in children
• toys imitating various cosmetic sets;
• toys which are a board game which help to develop the child's sense of smell.

In addition to assessing conformity with technical regulations, there is a need for work on the sanitary and epidemiological examination of children's toys.
