Management systems development

ISO 9000 standards were adopted by the International Organization for Standardization in 1987. The basic principles of establishing quality management systems (in official Ukrainian translation: quality control systems *) were extended to other management systems, as they can only be assessed or certified if there are standards defining the requirements for such systems.

The principal issue in such systems is the use of process approach and the Deming cycle (planning, action, analysis, adjustment).

One of the key goals of effective management system is the process of continuous improvement of its results. However, this goal becomes problematic in terms of achieving it if the period of time for such improvement is determined by a significant period (decades).

The latest versions of management system standards introduce a risk assessment procedure. The key to this procedure is to determine the risks, their severity and probability. All these risk indicators are largely subjective. Therefore, the results of their assessment are subjective. However, unlike such a goal as improvement, a long-term risk assessment that approaches many years (decades or more) will help to more accurately determine the risk probability that will improve the quality of the results of such assessment.

* The term “quality control” is not a complete analogue of the term “quality management”.

UCPS, LLC provides consulting services for development and implementation of quality management systems and promotes their certification by conformity assessment bodies (certification bodies).
